Screen acting class - Details
Acting classes are held one evening a week:
Tues, Wed, or Thursday - 7pm to 10pm.
Actors are welcome to return term-after-term (many do - gaining more experience).
Class is limited to 8 actors (usually less).
This is small compared to other acting courses (which can have over 15 people). So you get more time in front of me.
In the intimate setting of the specialist classes your confidence will build. You will receive honest critiques & clear direction, showing you how to improve your performance in every scene. Even if you are a working actor.
Experienced actor & want to improve
range and skill,or new to acting?
No problem.
Each week of study leads an actor
to a better understand of:
SCRIPTS, CHARACTER, VOICE, BODY-LANGUAGE, AUDITION TECHNIQUE,
& REAL WORLD ON-SET ACTING.
ACTING ON CAMERA
EVERY WEEK.
(unless there's a rare special class;
ie cold reading, repetition exercise)
RECEIVE YOUR MONOLOGUE/DUOLOGUE
5 to 6 DAYS BEFORE CLASS.

1: Class commences with practical theory
eg; screen acting techniques, script breakdown,
body language, production terminology,
CV help, & useful on set tips.
2: You rehearse the script based scene.
3: Valuable personal time in front of me to workshop & improve your scene.
4: Time to rehearse the scene again, before it's filmed.
5: The group watch all the scenes - which are critiqued... Occasionally class is devoted to:
Cold reading, audition technique,
My "emotional close-up exercise",
or a variation of Meisner “Repetition Exercise”.PRESS FOR - TV & FILM CREDITS

Outlander, Doctors, Belgravia, Dr Who, Emmerdale, Coronation St, Waterloo Road, CSi, Shameless USA, Hollyoaks,

THINKING OF ACTING IN LA
Ian has spent a few months in Los Angeles
every year since 1999.
His hands-on experience of directing actors
in his UK and LA productions enables him to pass on the technical skills, and tricks
of the trade that you would not receive
in many (if any) other acting workshops...
He's also very knowledgeable about Los Angeles ;-)
